Baudouin suggested a full turnkey solution, and successfully supplied and fitted a pair of M26.2 propulsion engines to power the floating restaurant. They provide 600 horsepower (450 kilowatts) at 1,950 rpm in a compact package, while maintaining reliability on the seagoing environment. The engines are controlled from both the vessel’s main station and the fly bridge, thanks to a twin station control.
In addition, the project utilised two Baudouin 6 W105S marine generator sets with 80kWe at 50Hz, to meet the demanding power needs of a professional kitchen and restaurant at sea.
“All the units offer best-in-class fuel consumption and unrivalled mean time between overhauls,” said Moteurs Baudouin. “This ensures more available time to spend cruising over the year, and less time worrying about servicing and maintenance. Plus, they deliver an overall low total cost of ownership.”
The successful delivery of the engines and gensets took just two months from the time the order was placed. With its new partner in the UAE, Galadari Group, Baudouin intends to become the premier partner for marine power in the UAE.
